Special Announcement
Funding for the First Annual yoSTEMite Day Celebration is generously provided by the following:
Yosemite-Wawona Elementary Charter School (Y-WECS) is excited to share that we have been awarded $25,000.00 in grant funding from the 2016 Engaging Youth Grant, supported by the National Park Service, Aramark & Yosemite Conservancy!
Y-WECS was funded this amount for our 2016-2017 school-wide project to continue our Field Studies Program initiated in our 2015-2016 school year. This grant allows our local students to take full advantage of the incredible opportunities available at their fingertips within and around Yosemite National Park. The funding of our yoSTEMite Field Studies program allows our school the resources to integrate a comprehensive STEM Education (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) program into our weekly curriculum. We are incredibly excited to embark on this educational journey!
Funding will go towards field studies in and around Yosemite, STEM classroom materials, a STEM fair, visiting experts
AND equipment and travel expenses related to our field studies!
We are extremely grateful to the National Park Service, Aramark & Yosemite Conservancy for
generously providing the funds for the
2016 Engaging Youth Grant.
