Do you charge a tuition?
No. As a California public school, Yosemite Wawona Elementary Charter School is a tuition-free school!
Do I have to live in Yosemite for my child to attend the school?
No. Public charter schools can serve students who reside in any bordering county. Yosemite-Wawona Elementary Charter School is located in Mariposa County, but operates under authorization of the Madera County Board of Education and Bass Lake Joint Union Elementary School District. We serve students from all neighboring counties.
Does the school provide transportation services?
No. For the 2019-2020 school year, Y-WECS will not offer transportation.
Does my child have to attend classes at the school campus five days per week?
No. Y-WECS offers two programs to help meet the needs of students and families. The Core Program is an on-site, classroom-based school schedule offered Monday-Friday. The Flex Friday Independent Study Program is an independent study option offered for our minimum days on Fridays.
