Because our school is located within Yosemite National Park, our students have access to amazing and unique learning opportunities. We have developed a close working relationship with the National Park Service, and our curriculum integrates many different aspects of environmental education, forest/park management, ranger activities and public service.

Yosemite's NatureBridge Program (formerly Yosemite Institute) sponsors the “Project Pluton” program where 4th-6th grade students from the Park schools spend one day each month, and one overnight, studying the geology, history, plants and animals of Yosemite. It gives students a special and unique way to learn about the Park and build friendships with other Park children. to edit.

YWECS has supported and partnered with ARC's summer program for the past six years. We believe the program makes a real difference in the lives of the youth they serve. Their programs align with our school's educational philosophies of fostering and supporting unique educational opportunities and programs to educate the whole child. The outdoor experience is one of the cornerstones of the program, making our school in Wawona a perfect home-base from which to launch into the wilderness of Yosemite.
